Singapore Airlines 가 최근 Gatwick 에서 fly하겠다는 계획을 발표했고, Emirates, Air India 와 세 개 중국 항공사들도.
작년 여름, 직원 부족으로 인해 disruption이 생겼던 것과 비슷한 먁 air traffic control delay는 반복되지 않을 것이라고 Wingate가 말함.
Gatwick은 air traffic control operation을 Nats에 subcontract하는데, 작년 9월 25일-10월 15일에는 air traffic control staff shortage로 인해 flight number 를 cap 해야 했음.

현재 Gatwick은 standby runway를 regular use 할 수 있도록 하는 계획을 열심히 집행 중임. 이는 2.2bn 파운드 프로젝트의 일환인데, 이렇게 되면 2030년 후반이면 최대 75mn passenger들을 handle할 수 있게 될 것임.
이런 계획들은 환경 단체와 일부 local들의 비판을 받은 바 있고, 현재 approval process를 밟는 중임
Wingate는 내년 이 맘 때 즈음이면 in their favour한 정부 결정을 받을 수 있으리라 생각함.
